Sustainable urban mobility in MOST. Strategies and tools
The Session intends to return, through the contributions of numerous partners, the preliminary outcomes of the research activities being carried out within the PNRR-funded Spoke 9 Urban Mobility of the National Centre for Sustainable Mobility. Spoke 9 focuses on the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve urban mobility, working to optimise public transport and reduce traffic congestion, improving accessibility and quality of life in cities. In particular, the partners pursue approaches aimed at the environmental, social and economic sustainability of urban transport, prioritising integrated perspectives between urban and infrastructure design, developing possible synergies between public transport and active mobility, testing the use of digital tools for the assessment of urban areas and digital platforms for traffic management. Spoke 9 relies on collaboration between academia and industry to achieve concrete research results and works closely with local administrations to implement sustainable urban mobility plans. The objective is to create an efficient, safe and environmentally friendly urban ecosystem, facilitating travel and reducing the environmental impact of transport.
The reports will concern the contributions of the research groups of the Universities and Companies involved in the WPs. These include the Sapienza University of Rome (Spoke Coordinator), the University of Cagliari (WP3 Coordinator), the University of Parma, the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Florence; the FS Group with FS Research Centre and Italferr, ENEA, Lutech.
