15_CTV

With the edition number 15, the CTV returns to Rome in September 2025 (twelve years after the edition number 9, City · Memory · People of 2013) to delve into the theme of the “Renaissance of the city”.

“…we thought we were staying healthy in a sick world…”

The words pronounced by the Pope on March 27, 2020 in an unrealistically deserted St. Peter’s Square during the Extraordinary oration for the end of the Pandemic, will be the guide to the various interdisciplinary reflections that will fuel the three days of the Congress.

Recent history, contemporary challenges and international crises are the opportunity to think about how to manage, preserve and develop those complex systems that are the City and the Territory in a post-Covid future and build finally “antifragile” strategies (Taleb, 2012; Blecic, Cecchini, 2016). The 15_CTV Roma 2025 intends to trace a renewed path in research, communication and teaching in the direction of a “Renaissance of the city” (Vittorini, 1988; Hardy, 2004).

The coincidence with the Jubilee 2025 will also be an opportunity to study and discuss in particular the effects and impacts of “big events” on cities and territories, with special attention to the socio-economic and climate-environmental implications and the real increase in competitiveness at an international level.

The conference proceedings will be published online on the UPC-Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya journal and conference proceedings platform, in the serial publication International Conference on Virtual City and Territory (Online ISSN: 2604-6512), in the process of being indexed by Scopus (Elsevier).

In addition, the authors of one paper per thematic session will be invited to submit their contribution for publication in the journal ACE: Arquitectura, Ciudad y Entorno (Online ISSN: 1886-4805; Print ISSN: 1887-7052) edited by the CPSV-Centro de Política de Suelo y Valoraciones of the UPC-Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.

The CTV will be divided into 3 days, with 3 lectio magistralis and a total of 12 parallel sessions in addition to 3 special sessions; approximately 160 speakers are expected (selected thanks to a call for abstracts).

Participation in person and remotely will be foreseen.
